2023 Outdoor: Secured his second collegiate win in the men’s 400m hurdles at the Hurricane Invitational with 53.31…at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational, Berberena placed third in both the 400m hurdles with 52.80 and with the 4×400 relay team with 3:22.61…assisted the men’s 4×400 relay team with a first place finish and time of 3:13.98 at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational…assisted in a point-scoring 4×400 relay performance at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a season-best 3:08.49.
2023 Indoor: Placed second with the 4×400 relay team at the Louisville Cardinal Classic with 3:13.12…had a performance of 49.76 at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open in the 400m, placing him at ninth.
2022 Outdoor: Competed at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational in the 400m, finishing with 49.57…Placed fifth with the men’s 4×400 relay team with 3:14.97 at the North Florida Collegiate Invitational
2022 Indoor: Did not compete in the 2022 indoor track and field season.
2021 Outdoor: Began the outdoor season as the opening leg of the 4×400 relay to help the Canes win with a time of 3:09.51 at the Hurricane Invitational…Won the 400m hurdles at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational with his time of 53.63… Ran his fastest 400m hurdles time of the season at 53.01 at the Florida Relays… Closed the season at the UNF Invitational.
2021 Indoor: Made his collegiate debut in the men’s 400m dash at the Red Raider Invitational running a time of48.23 and helped the 4×400 relay finish second with a time of 3:14.84…Finished 10th at the Bob Pollock Invitational in the men’s 400m dash with a time of 48.32…Ran the 400m dash in 48.78 seconds and helped the men’s relay team break a 25-year program record with its time of 3:08.63 at the Tiger Paw Invite.
Personal: Named to both All-Division and All-Conference teams in 2018… Earned All-Division, All-Conference, all-Group 4, All-State honors and was an All-American in 2019… Finished second at New Balance in the 400m hurdles… Holds 10 school records, including four relays…Son of Raul and Eunice Berberena and brother to Esberth and Elias.
