Played in all 29 games…averaged 7.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game…ranked fourth on the team in scoring and was the Hurricanes’ leading scorer off the bench…averaged 9.9 points per game in the league and conference tournament play…scored in double-figures in eight  of the Hurricanes’ last 18 games including three 20-point games…named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week…made collegiate debut  vs. Florida Atlantic (Nov. 18, 2000) recording two points, three rebounds, five assists and one steal in 21 minutes…came off the bench to score a team-high 12 points vs. Columbia (Nov. 21, 2000)…scored all of his ponts in the second half…played 27 minutes vs. Pittsburgh (Jan. 1, 2001) and recorded 11 points, shooting 3-5 from the three-point range…scored 15 points vs. Boston College (Jan. 7, 2001)..connected on 5-10 three-point baskets in 25 minutes of work..also recorded two steals…recorded nine points and a team-high four assists vs. Virginia Tech (Jan. 10, 2001)…played a career-high 32 minutes vs. Voston College (Jan. 13, 2001) an recorded 12 points…score 20 points vs. Providence (Jan. 16, 2001) including one rebound, four assists and one steal …recorded a career-high in scoring woth 24 points vs. No. 15 Conneticut (Jan. 20, 2001)…was 16 from the field, including 6-14 fromt he three-point range and 6-7 from the line…also registers a career-high four rebounds, two assists and one steal…payed 27 minutes vs. Providence (Jan. 28, 2001) and recorded 20 points, shooting 6-11from the field including 3-6 from the three-point range…recorded 11 points and a carrer-high six assists in 22 minutes off the bench vs. Villanova (Feb. 17, 2001)…recorded five points, four rebounds and a carrerh-high five steals vs. Conneticut (Feb. 24, 2001)…in the BIG EAST Tournament Barnes played 30 minutes in Miami’s opening round game vs. Pittsburgh(March 7, 2001) and recorded 12 points, two rebounds and four assists…in the National Invitation Tournament Barnes did not score in 13 minutes of action vs. Auburn (March 14, 2001).

HIGH SCHOOL 

Two year starter and team captin…averaged 30.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game as a senior…led Dade-County in scoring and was named third-team All-State and first-team All-Dade County his senior season…led Miami Senior to a 30-7 record and a trip to the quaterfinals of the 2000 Florida 6A State Basketball Tournament…set school-record for a single season scoring average as a senior…was a second-team All-Dade selection as a junior after averaging 26 points, three rebounds, seven assists and one steal per game…member of the 1998-99 Florida 6A State Champions.
