Fifth-year senior forward who adds depth to the Hurricanes’ perimeter game…a solid all-around player who works hard at both ends of the floor…has great range…is one of two players on the Hurricanes’ roster from the state of New York.

As a Junior (2000-01)

Played in nine games averaging 0.3 points and 0.3 rebounds per game. In the Regular Season: Saw first action since the 1998-99 season against Columbia (11-21-00)…recorded one rebound in one minute action…did not acore in one minute of action against Charlotte (11-28-00)…recorded two points in in one minute of action against North Carloina (12-4-00)…did not score in one minute of action against Eastern Illinois (12-18-00)…played two minutes against Eastern Illinois (12-18-00)…played two minutes against Lehigh (12-27-00) recording one steal…played a season-high six minutes against Tennessee-Martin (12-29-00) recording one assist…played six minutes against Virginia Tech (1-10-01) recording one rebound…recorded one point in to minutes against Boston College (1-13-01). In the BIG EAST Tournament: Did not play against Pittsburgh (3-7-01). In the National Invitational Tournament: Did not play in Miami’s opening NIT game versus Auburn (3-14-01).

As a Redshirt (1999-00)

Missed the entire 1999-0 season following surgery to repair a chondral defect in his right knee.

As a Sophomore (1998-99)

Saw action in 14 games averaging 0.8 points and 0.5 rebounds. In the Regular Season: Played one minute against No. 1 ranked Connecticut (1-20-99)…registered two points, on 2-of-2 shooting from the line, and one rebound in two minutes against Florida Atlantic (11-13-98)…played a career-high sveen minutes against Memphis (12-22-98) and recorded three-points…recorded two points and three rebounds in three minutes off the bench against Pittsburgh (2-23-99). In the BIG EAST Tournament: Was on the active roster but did not see any action. In the NCAA Tournament: Played in the Hurricanes’ opening round game against Lafayette (3-12-99) recording a career-high four points.

1998 South American Tour

Played in all four games recording two points, one assist and one steal…recorded two points and one assist in the tour opener against Boca Juniors.

As a Freshman (1997-98)

Saw action in seven games (Florida Atlantic, Eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, Villanova, Notre Dame, Providence and UCLA)…averaged 0.4 points in 1.7 minutes per contest…went 3-of-4 (.750) from the line on the season. In the Regular Season: Saw first collegiate action against Florida Atlantic (11-16-97) scoring one point in four minutes…played one minute against West Virginia (1-10-98) anad recorded two points hitting 2-of-2 from the line…did not score but played two minutes against Eastern Kentucky (11-24-97), one minutes against Villanova (1-22-98), one minute versus Notre Dame (2-14-98) and two minutes against Providence (2-18-98). In the BIG EAST Tournament: Was on the active roster but did not see any action. In the NCAA Tournament: Did not score in one minute of action against UCLA (3-13-98).

High School: Sachem High School…played in 20 contests averaging 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block as a senior…two-time team MVP and a team captain who finished as Sachem’s all-time leading scorer (1,191) surpassing former NBA star Jeff Ruland…All-Long Island and All-County selection at small forward his senior year…played in 23 games as a junior, averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two stelas and one block per contest…led the team to a 20-3 record (11-1, 1st in conference) and the Suffolk County Class A title…made the school’s honor roll reach year…coached by Steve Rich.

Personal: Finance major…full name is Jeremiah Gershon Schlie…born November 6, 1978 in Brookhaven, NY…enjoys listening to music and going to the movies in his spare time…lists New York Knicks center Patrick Ewing as his favorite athlete because he has an intense desire to win an NBA title…brother Mike plays basketball from New York University…attended same high school as former NBA player Jeff Ruland and former Hurricane and major league pitcher Neal Heaton…son of Adele and Walter Schile.
