Matthias Martinez is in his second year with the University of Miami Athletics Department, serving within the Ticket Operations as a Customer Service Representative. Overall, this is his fourth year working at the University of Miami.
Within the UM Department of Athletics, Martinez helps to process and maintain events on the Archtics ticketing system, while overseeing Ticket Operations for women’s soccer and assisting with men’s basketball. During the 2009-10 athletic year, he oversaw Ticket Operations for women’s soccer and baseball. He is also responsible for providing essential customer service to ensure retention of football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball season ticket holders.
Before his arrival at UM, Martinez worked with the School of Psychology at the University of Miami as a School Readiness Research Assistant. In that capacity, he administered various assessments to collect data for a school readiness study of underprivileged children throughout the community. He also researched and recorded field data analyzed by study administrators. Additionally, he trained and implemented new assessments administered to students.
Matthias Martinez was enlisted for three years in the United State Army, serving as a M1A1 Abrams Talk Crewman. While serving in the Unites States military, he received the Excellence in Armor Award.
Other various areas that Martinez has volunteered his time (and collected accomplishments) have been working the 2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament and 2009 Sony Ericsson Open. He is a Future Educators of America Member, and an Academic Scholarship Recipient. Martinez is a Florida Teacher Scholarship Recipient, as well as a Sports Administration Undergraduate Scholarship Recipient.
Martinez is a graduate of the University of Miami, earning a dual major within the School of Education. He achieved his Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration, and in Secondary Education. Currently, he is working towards pursuing his Master’s Degree in International Business Administration.
Matthias Martinez is married to Natalia, and the couple has been married since 2005.
