Hurricanes Fall to Yellow Jackets
ATLANTA, Ga. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team (7-8, 0-5 ACC) fell, 4-2, to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (9-6, 1-4 ACC) on Friday night.
Two courts finished quick in doubles, as Nacho Serra Sanchez and Mehdi Sadaoui earned the 6-2 win over Gianluca Carlini and Elias Shokry on court three, while Antonio Prat and Jakub Kroslak fell 6-3 at the top court.
Down to court two, Jules Garot and Rafael Segado held a strong 5-2 lead over Jonathan Irwanto and Richard Biagiotti, but the Yellow Jackets came back and took the win, 7-5, for the doubles point.
Sadaoui tied it up with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win on court five over Elias Shokry to tie the match, while No. 98 Prat took down Christophe Clement, 7-6 (2), 6-2, at the top court to take the lead.
Georgia Tech tied it back at two with a court three win from Carlini over Kroslak, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, until back-to-back court wins won the match for the Yellow Jackets. Saud Alhogbani fell, 6-3, 1-6, 3-6, on court six and Serra Sanchez dropped court two, 3-6, 6-2, 3-6.
The Hurricanes travel to Clemson on Sunday
