Malone, Da Silva lead Hurricanes to NCAA Indoor Championships
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Miami track and field program will be well represented at the NCAA Indoor Championships as five individual Hurricanes and the men’s 4×400 relay qualified for the two-day event at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, March 13–14.
ACC champions Ace Malone and Tania Da Silva qualified in the 400 meters and weight throw, respectively.
ACC silver medalist Kennedy Sauder will make his third NCAA appearance in the high jump, while Edgar Campre returns to the national stage for the second consecutive year in the heptathlon.
Natalie Varela will make her first NCAA Indoor Championships appearance in the 800 meters.
Miami’s men’s 4×400 relay of Sean Watkins, George Franks, Dominique Hall and Malone qualified after setting the ACC record with a time of 3:04.11.
The NCAA Indoor Championships will be streamed live on ESPN+.
