Miami Completes Day One of Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Miami track and field team began competition at the Razorback Invitational on Friday at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Tania Da Silva opened the day with a strong performance in the women’s weight throw. The Porto Alegre, Brazil, native set the school’s second-longest throw with a distance of 21.82m. Jocelyn Pringle and Calea Jackson each set personal bests in the event with throws of 20.86m and 20.27m, respectively.

Desmond Coleman placed second in the men’s weight throw with a 20.55m. Edgar Campre sits in fifth place after the first four events of the heptathlon with 3,143 points.

The Hurricanes return to the track Saturday at 10:55 a.m. with the men’s 3000m.
