VB Moves to No. 18 in AVCA Rankings

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami volleyball team (14-1, 4-0 ACC) jumped four spots to No. 18 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association rankings, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

The Hurricanes are currently on a 14-match win streak after dropping their first match of the season to Indiana. They moved up in the poll following another undefeated weekend against NC State and Wake Forest, sweeping both.

Senior Flormarie Heredia Colon leads the NCAA and ACC in points per set, leads the conference in kills per set (third in NCAA), total points, total kills, total attacks, and is second in the ACC in aces per set (eighth in NCAA) and total aces (14th in NCAA).

Miami will host their first ACC weekend with two top-10 matchups coming to the Knight Sports Complex, as they face No. 4 Pitt and No. 10 SMU on Oct. 10 and 12, respectively.
