Heredia Colon Earns Third Weekly Conference Honor

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami senior Flormarie Heredia Colon was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.

This marks the third conference weekly honor for the Santo Domingo native. Heredia Colon showed out for Miami once again and extended their win streak to 14 straight wins. She tallied 38 kills on a .385 clip, averaged 6.33 kills per set and notched 43.0 points.

Against NC State, she earned 17 kills on a .308 clip for 20 points and followed it up against Wake Forest with 21 kills, a hitting percentage of .462, eight digs and 23 points.

She currently leads the NCAA and ACC in points per set and leads the conference in kills per set (third in NCAA), total points, total kills, total attacks, and is second in the ACC in aces per set (eighth in NCAA) and total aces (14th in NCAA).

Miami will host their first ACC weekend with two top-10 matchups coming to the Knight Sports Complex, as they face No.  4 Pitt and No. 10 SMU on Oct. 10 and 12, respectively.
