Kershaw Releases Hurricanes 2025-26 Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head swimming coach Andy Kershaw released the program’s 2025-26 schedule Friday.
The Hurricanes are coming off one of their best campaigns in program history, and they open their season at the FGCU Invite from Oct. 10-11 in Fort Myers, Fla.
Miami will open its home slate Oct. 31 against Florida Southern at the Whitten Pool.
“This year’s schedule is the perfect schedule for our team to gain experience and be prepared for excellence at the end of the year when it matters most,” Kershaw said.
The Hurricanes posted a top-15 finish nationally in 2024-25, finishing No. 13 in total points at the NCAA Championships and recording their most swimming points since 2012. Diver Chiara Pellacani won a national championship on the 1-meter springboard, while the Hurricanes finished in the top 20 nationally for the 13th time in history, scored points for the 15th straight year, and had three swimmers qualify for the NCAA Championships.
“When we look at the big picture we want to make sure everything we do is preparing us to be our best at NCAA Championships and ACC Championships as well as at all of our athlete’s national and international competitions, but we also really enjoy any opportunity we get to compete in our “game” – our meets,” Kershaw said. This schedule gives us plenty of opportunities to play the game against great competition while still preparing for our biggest competitions.”
Included in Miami’s fall campaign is a trip to New Brunswick, N.J., for a tri-meet with Arkansas and Rutgers (Oct. 24-25), as well as a visit to the Hawkeye Invite, hosted on the University of Iowa campus, from Nov. 18-21. The Hurricanes host FAU and Cincinnati in a tri-meet on Dec. 15 and also host Notre Dame on Jan. 3.
In a crucial spring lead-up into the ACC Championships (Feb. 17-21) and the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships (March 18-21, March 25-28), Miami has a tri-meet with Harvard and FIU (Jan. 10), as well a trip to Atlanta to battle host Georgia Tech and visiting South Carolina (Jan. 24) in its final head-to-head competition of the season.
“One thing we always try to do with our schedule is provide our student- athletes with opportunities to see different venues, universities, and parts of the country,” Kershaw said. “These athletes commit a lot of time to our sport. One way we can reward that is by providing them with diverse experiences. I am fortunate that our university and our athletic department gives us the resources to provide that.”
