Hurricanes Suffer 4-3 Loss to No. 13 Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 25 University of Miami men’s tennis team (11-8, 4-6) fell 4-3 to the No. 13 Duke Blue Devils (15-5, 8-2) on Sunday evening.

The Hurricanes fell short of the doubles point and took it down to the final singles court but dropped the top-15 matchup.

On court two, Nacho Serra Sanchez and Leonardo Dal Boni fell 6-2 to Pedro Rodenas and Andreja Petrovic, before Duke came out victorious with a 6-1 win from Remy Dugardin and Gerard Planelles over Mehdi Sadaoui and Jules Garot.

The Blue Devils then extended the lead following a 6-3, 6-2 from Connor Krug against Dal Boni. Sanchez took court three, 6-4, 6-4, over Petrovic. Duke answered with a 7-6, 6-1 score from No. 71 Cooper Williams over Prat. Miami tied it at three all after Garot took down Jake Krug, 6-4, 7-6, while No. 41 Katz earned the 7-6, 6-4 win over No. 36 Rodenas.

Coming down to the last court, Sadaoui battled but fell 2-6, 7-5, 3-6 to Dugardin on court four.

The Hurricanes will come back home to host Louisville and Notre Dame on April 3 and 5, respectively.
