Miami Secures 4-2 Win Against No. 16 Clemson

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 34 University of Miami men’s tennis team (11-6, 4-4) earned the 4-2 victory over the No. 16 Clemson Tigers (17-3, 6-2) on Sunday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

The Hurricanes battled to take the doubles point, followed by three singles court wins for the highest ranked win for Miami since 2019.

At the top court, Martin Katz and Antonio Prat fell 6-1 to No. 31 Noa Vukadin and Max Smith, but Miami rallied back to earn the following two courts. Nacho Serra Sanchez and Leonardo Dal Boni took court two, 6-4, over Viktor Markov and Max Damm, while Mehdi Sadaoui and Jules Garot clinched court three, 7-5, against Romain Gales and Wissam Abderrahman.

Clemson took the first two courts within seconds of each other as Garot fell 6-4, 6-4 to Smith and Dal Boni dropped court five 7-6, 6-2 to Gales. Miami then earned back-to-back courts from Sadaoui over Mesarovic, 6-3, 6-4, on court four followed by a 6-4, 6-4 win from Prat against No. 92 Abderrahman on court two to take the lead for the Canes.

Katz, ranked No. 41, clinched the match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 against No. 55 Vukadin at the top court to earn Miami an undefeated weekend.

The Hurricanes will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face UNC on March 28.
