Campre Finishes Third; Grissom Places Sixth to Wrap Up NCAA Indoor Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Edgar Campre set the school record in the heptathlon to record a third-place finish and Gabriella Grissom finished sixth in the 800m Saturday on the final day of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Campre reset his own school record with 5,394 points. He finished first in the day’s first event, the 60m hurdles, with a time of 7.88 before clearing a personal-best heigh of 4.97m in the pole vault, the fourth-best performance in school history. He rounded out the heptathlon with a 2:53.56 in the 1000m.

Grissom registered a sixth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:02.46. Grissom clocked a 28.34 opening 200m before completing 400m at 59.35. After a 31.41 split she finished the final 200m at 31.70.

Miami begins their outdoor season Friday and Saturday at the Hurricane Invitational held at Cobb Stadium.
