Carvalho Picks Up Another Honor from ACC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – In the week 12 set of weekly honors for the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming & Diving season, Miami’s Giulia Carvalho was named the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week.

Carvalho helped lead Miami to a tri-meet sweep over Cincinnati and FAU last weekend. The senior captain was a part of four event wins, including two individual events and two relays.

A native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Carvalho placed first in the 100 IM (56.64), 150 yard free (1:43.22), 8×50 relay (3:25.70) and 400 fly relay (3:51.61).

It was Carvalho’s second weekly swimming honor of the season and third by a Hurricane; Simone Moll was named ACC Swimmer of the Week earlier in October.
