Miami Finishes Fourth at Evie Odom Invitational
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â The University of Miami golf team rallied from sitting tied for 11th after the first round of the Evie Odom Invitational to finish in fourth place, securing its third top-five finish of the 2024-25 season.
The Hurricanes shot four-over-par across the final 36 holes to record a 54-hole score of 861 (+21) on the par-70, 5,824-yard course at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va. Â Miami ascended four spots on the final day of action to finish in fourth.
Freshman Sofie Hlinomazova recorded her first collegiate top-10 finish, shooting a two-over-par score of 212 to place tied for eighth. Hlinomazovaâs final score of 212 is also a new personal 54-hole best for the Hurricane.
Sophomore Barbora BujĂĄkovĂĄ and freshman Cloe Amion Villarino each finished tied for 21st with a 54-hole score of 217 (+7). Amion Villarino was the biggest mover for Miami, ascending 43 spots between the first and final rounds.
Junior Olivia GrĂžnborg shot a 220 (+10) on the weekend to place tied for 32nd, while sophomore Aada Rissanen concluded the event tied for 62nd with a 54-hole score of 229 (+19).
Playing as an individual, junior Katie Carman tied for 51st among all players, shooting a 225 (+15) in the tournament.
College of Charleston secured the team title after shooting 847 (-11) as a squad. Furman (862; -2) and Sacramento State (872; +8) rounded out the podium at the Evie Odom Invitational.
The Hurricanes will continue action on Cot. 20-22 when they head to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Mercedez-Benz Intercollegiate.
