Miami Signs Maximo Oberto For 2024-25 Season

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s tennis head coach Alex Santos announced the addition of Maximo Oberto on Thursday.

From Aventura, Fla., Oberto is coming to Miami with a career-high ITF junior ranking of 786.

“Miami is my home and I am excited to represent the city that I love so much”, said Oberto.

He will join the team after notching the J5 Tacarigua singles title and collecting 19 singles wins, as well as reaching the quarterfinals in three tournaments.

“Maximo’s passion for tennis, combined with his love for the city of Miami and the University of Miami are very inspirational”, said Santos. “His talent, physicality and his ability to understand sports at a high level will be incredible assets for our program.”

Oberto will join Leonardo Dal Boni and Mehdi Sadaoui as a newcomer and play alongside returning players Martin Katz, Antonio Prat and Nacho Serra Sanchez.
