Balzert/Schuknecht Named ACC Doubles Team of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami women’s tennis pair of Antonia Balzert and Leonie Schuknecht were named the ACC Doubles Team of the week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Balzert and Schuknecht topped Florida State’s No. 42 ranked duo of Maelie Monfils and Ellie Schoppe, 6-4, on court two to clinch the doubles point for the Hurricanes on Sunday.

The rivalry win was the pair’s first ranked win of the season to make them 2-2 for the spring slate since being grouped together.

The accolade marks the Hurricanes’ second ACC honor of the season, after Alexa Noel notched ACC Player of the Week (Feb. 6).

Miami will be back in action on March 15 when they travel to Louisville, Ken., for its first ACC trip to face Louisville.
