Hurricanes Secure 4-2 Win Against Badgers
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team notched the 4-2 win over Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The match opened with doubles in a tight matchup. Despite Martin Katz and Adrien Burdet winning court two, 6-2, over Zlatohlavek and Olsson, the Badgers took the opening point. Wisconsin’s Popovic and Minasyan claimed the top-court 6-4 over Miami’s Vladislav Melnic and Antonio Prat.
The Badgers then secured doubles after a court-three 6-4 win from UW’s Collin Beduhn and Matthew Fullerton.

At the No. 2 court, Katz followed it up with a win over Minasyan, 6-4, 6-2. Melnic was up on Popovic 7-6 (6), 2-1 when Wisconsin retired and gave Melnic the win at the top court.
To clinch the match, Prat took down Fullerton, 7-6 (2), 6-1, on court three to give Miami its second win of the season.
Play continued, but Wisconsin’s Zlatohlavek won court five, 4-6, 3-1, after Nacho Serra Sanchez retired. Court six also went unfinished with Baumgartner up 6-2, 2-0 when play was halted.
