Lopez Earns ACC Freshman of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Grace Lopez was named ACC Freshman of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday afternoon.

From Aguada, Puerto Rico, the freshman tallied a career-high 27 kills, which is ninth most all-time in Miami history for most kills in a match and third all-time in most kills in a four-set match. She also claimed a career-high 15 digs for a double-double and 27.0 points.

After yesterday’s game, Lopez now leads the ACC in kills per set (4.02) and is second in points per set (4.49). She also ties for most kills in a match this season, doing it in only four sets.

The weekly honor marks Lopez’s third career accolade and Miami’s ninth of the season.

The Hurricanes will return home to face No. 9 Georgia Tech on Friday, Nov. 17.
