Vach Claims Third ACC Setter of the Week Honor

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Savannah Vach was named ACC Setter of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday afternoon.

The honor comes after the fifth-year helped lead Miami (8-4) in its first conference weekend. She showed a dominant performance against Wake Forest and paced the Canes to a 3-1 win over Virginia Tech. Overall, Vach tallied 99 assists and averaged 12.38 assists per set.

Against Wake Forest, the Florida native earned 50 assists for a .446 percentage, as well as notching 11 digs and three blocks.

The Winter Springs, Fla., native then led the team to their first ACC win against the Hokies in an intense four-set battle. She claimed 49 assists on a .434 percentage, one kill, four aces and 12 digs.

She leads the conference and is 11th in the NCAA in assists per set (10.95), while also ranking third in the ACC and 45th in the NCAA in total assists (482).

The accolade marks Vach’s third of the season and fourth in her career.

Miami is set to host Duke and UNC on Sept. 29 and Oct. 1, respectively.
