Vach Named ACC Setter of the Week
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Savannah Vach was named ACC Setter of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday afternoon.
The recognition comes after Vach helped lead Miami (4-1) to a Saturday-afternoon sweep of Troy and dominant performance over South Carolina on Friday night.
The fifth-year setter tallied 51 assists against the Gamecocks for a .359 average and earned two kills and 3.0 points for the Canes. Against Troy, she notched another 36 assists for a .562 average.
Vach is the only Miami player to appear in every set this season and start each match. She also leads the team in assists (219) and digs (40).
She ranks seventh in the NCAA and first in the ACC in assists per set (11.53) and leads the conference in career assists (4,257).
The 2023 All-ACC preseason team selection is the first Cane to earn the conference honor this season and notches her second career weekly accolade, the last being in 2019 for Freshman of the Week.
Miami is back in action Friday, Sept. 8 when it travels to Madison, Wis., to face No. 1 Wisconsin.
