Zahafi Tabbed ACC Performer of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Atlantic Coastal Conference announced on Tuesday that senior distance runner Ayman Zahafi has been chosen as this week’s ACC Performer of the Week.

Last week, at the New Mexico Collegiate Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Zahafi was lightning quick during the men’s 800m dash, placing second in the event with a time of 1:47.44. Ayman’s time in the 800m in New Mexico was also the fastest in the Atlantic Coastal Conference.

Moriah Oliveira and now Ayman Zahafi are the only hurricanes this indoor season that has received performer of the week honors from the conference.

Next up, the men’s and women’s track and field team will travel to Clemson, South Carolina Feb 10 and 11 to compete in the Tiger Paw Invitational.
