Miami Set for Sunshine State Invite
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami rowing team is back on the water on Friday to participate in the 2022 Sunshine State Invitational at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
The Hurricanes will be one of 11 teams participating in the two-day event, including four teams from the state of Florida (Jacksonville, Stetson and UCF) and five power five schools (Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville). Crews from Drexel, Northeastern and Tulsa will also be in attendance for the weekend.
Miami is bringing a pair of varsity four boats and three varsity eight boats to the Sunshine State Invite. The Hurricanes are coming off three first-place finishes in a tri-race with Jacksonville and Stetson just a week ago.
Friday’s preliminary heat races will begin at 4 p.m. with back-to-back varsity four races, while the varsity eight boats will row starting at 4:30 p.m.
