Tickets on Sale for Eighth Annual Celebration of Women’s Athletics
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Tickets are now on sale for the University of Miami’s eighth annual Celebration of Women’s Athletics presented by adidas. The CWA will take place on Sunday, April 10, at 5 p.m. at the Carol Soffer Indoor Practice Facility.
The CWA honors current Miami female student-athletes from each of UM’s nine women’s programs for their excellence on the playing field, as well as in the classroom and community. Click here for ticket information.
The event continues to support the Together 4 Her Campaign, which is designed to develop leaders and prepare women to be successful in life beyond athletic competition. Support of the CWA includes exclusive benefits that strengthen the impact on UM female student-athletes.
Together 4 Her (formerly Building Women’s Champions) is a year-round fundraising effort for Miami women’s athletics that also celebrates the 50th anniversary of Title IX. Together 4 Her will also showcase content and programming surrounding UM’s female student-athletes over the last five decades.
“We are excited to announce our eighth annual Celebration of Women’s Athletics,” Vice President/Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said. “It continues to be one of our signature annual events and we are grateful that so many members of the Hurricanes family are inspired to honor, celebrate and support these incredible female student-athletes and all they have accomplished. We are also excited to recognize the 50th anniversary of Title IX through our Together 4 Her campaign.”
The CWA was founded in 2015 by University of Miami Board of Trustees members Hilarie Bass, Barbara Havenick and Laurie Silvers. The proceeds from the CWA are used to provide UM female student-athletes with first-class opportunities to compete, study and become the next generation of leaders.
“This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX. As part of that milestone, we are thrilled to once again recognize the fantastic accomplishments of our female student-athletes at the Celebration of Women’s Athletics,” said Jennifer Strawley, Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Operating Officer and Senior Woman Administrator. “Thank you to so many who have generously supported this event over the last 8 years. Our commitment is to continue grow our efforts through the Together 4 Her campaign and with this support of the Miami community to continue to provide opportunities for our female student-athletes to excel.”
