Miami Returns to Course at Jim West Challenge

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After a month off from competition, the University of Miami golf team returns to action this weekend at the Jim West Challenge.

The Hurricanes, who last competed Sept. 20-21, will be in San Marcos, Texas, for the two-day tournament on Sunday and Monday.

Miami is coming off a second-place finish with a score of 857 (+5) at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship.

The Canes will be paired with host Texas State and Houston in rounds one and two tomorrow. Round one tees off at 9:30 a.m. (ET) with continuous play directly into the second round. The third and final round will be played on Monday with a 9:30 a.m. tee time.

The field includes four top-25 teams according to Golfstat.com — No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 15 Florida State and No. 20 TCU.

UM’s lineup this weekend will include Kristyna Frydlova, Anna Backman, Sara Byrne, Daniella Barrett, and Morgan Pankow, who will be making her season debut.
