Trio Advances at Olympic Diving Trials
INDIANAPOLIS — University of Miami alum David Dinsmore led the way for the Hurricanes at the 2021 U.S. Diving Olympic Team Trials on Tuesday from the Natatorium at IUPUI.
Dinsmore, one of three Hurricanes to compete in the men’s platform, finished the night’s semifinal round in third place with 827.70 points to earn a spot in Sunday’s 12-man final round.
Joining Dinsmore in the finals will be Miami student-athletes Zach Cooper (744.50, eighth place) and Max Flory (706.20, 11th place).
The top-two finishers in the event will represent Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics. Dinsmore trails Brandon Loschiavo (956.60) and Jordan Windle (906.10) heading into the finals.
Miami alum Briadam Herrera and student-athlete Jack Matthews will compete in the 3-meter preliminaries and semifinals on Wednesday from Indianapolis.
