Miami, Rizzo Agree to Four-Year Contract Extension

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami has agreed in principle to a four-year contract extension with head golf coach Patti Rizzo. The extension will stretch Rizzo’s contract through May 31, 2025.

“Patti has done a terrific job leading our golf program for the past decade,” Director of Athletics Blake James said. “Our golfers are consistently competitive on the course and in the classroom. We are excited that she will continue to be a part of our U Family.”

A UM sports Hall of Famer from her playing days at The U, the LPGA tour member’s career has come full circle as she embarks on her 11th season as the head coach of the Hurricanes.

Since becoming the leader of the program, Rizzo has guided Miami to 57 top-five tournament finishes and five tournament victories. On the national stage, she helped Miami to back-to-back NCAA Championship trips in 2016 and 2017, while reaching NCAA Regionals every season since 2013.

Miami has seen a perfect graduation success rate in each of her first 10 seasons as head coach, while earning the NCAA Public Recognition Award for outstanding performance in the classroom in each of the past six seasons.
