19 Student-Athletes Earn Degrees from Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Nineteen student-athletes earned degrees from the University of Miami Thursday.

Official commencement exercises were held virtually to safeguard the health and well-being of students, families, and surrounding communities during the current pandemic.

“Today is a memorable moment for 19 members of our U Family as they officially earn a degree from the University of Miami,” Director of Athletics Blake James said. “It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication displayed by these outstanding student-athletes, especially during a year that presented such unique academic and athletic challenges. I can’t wait to see where their life’s journey takes them from here.”

Nine of UM’s athletic programs were represented in Fall 2020 graduation, led by the football team with six graduates, including offensive lineman Navaughn Donaldson, long snapper Clay James and linebacker Bradley Jennings, Jr. The list also includes women’s basketball backcourt teammates Taylor Mason and Kelsey Marshall; UM weight throw record holder Kevin Arreaga from track and field; and baseball’s Willie Abreu, a three-time All-ACC selection who helped lead the Canes to back-to-back College World Series appearances in 2015-16.
