Miami Announces 2020 Cross Country Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After an unprecedented offseason, the University of Miami cross country program has officially announced its three-meet 2020 season.
The Hurricanes will travel to two in-state meets prior to the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Championships, where it will conclude the 2020 season.
“Although the schedule isn’t quite what we had planned, we will gladly take advantage of any opportunity to compete,” distance coach Cody Halsey said. “We’re beyond grateful of all the hard work our administration and conference has done in order to help facilitate this process and get us to the starting line.”
Miami will travel north to Gainesville, Fla., on Sept. 24 for the first race of the season to compete at the annual Mountain Dew Invitational. The meet is scheduled for a start time of 7:55 a.m. for the men’s 8k and an 8:30 start for the women’s 5k on the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
Following the season opener, Miami will travel to the FSU Invitational on Oct. 2 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla. The meet will feature five ACC schools and seven SEC Schools.
The Canes will close out the season on Oct. 30 at the ACC Cross Country Championships in Cary, N.C. The ACC plans to hold the Championships at WakeMed Soccer Park for the first time since 2016 and third time overall.
