Rowing Ready for ACC Championship

CLEMSON, S.C.– The University of Miami rowing team will race against its fellow conference members at the ACC Rowing Championships this weekend.

Five Hurricane boats will compete on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina. Heats will be held Friday afternoon beginning at 5:35 p.m., while finals are set for Saturday morning at 8:05 a.m. There is no charge for admission.

The prelims can be watched LIVE by clicking HERE, while Saturday’s finals will be streamed LIVE and can be seen HERE. Live results of the 2019 ACC Rowing Championship can be found HERE. ACC Network Extra coverage is available for prelims on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by the finals from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday. Jerry Massey will handle play-by-play and will be joined by analyst Steve Pritzker, a former rowing head coach at Iowa.
 
“The ACC Championships is the culmination of the racing season and the team is excited to compete,” head coach Dave Sanderson said. “Our student-athletes have done a good job improving through the final weeks of the season and are excited to test their speed.  The only thing left to do is race.”
 
Miami’s Third Varsity 8+ will be the first boat in the water, racing at 5:35 p.m. out of Lane 1 in Heat 1 against UNC, Louisville, Notre Dame and Virginia.
 
The Hurricanes’ Second Varsity 4+ will run out of Lane 2 in Heat 2 beginning at 6:10 p.m., racing against Clemson Notre Dame and Duke.
 
Miami’s Varsity 4 will follow their teammates in Lane 2, facing off against Boston College, Syracuse, Louisville and Virginia in Heat 1 beginning at 6:25 p.m.
 
The Second Varsity 8+ will race out of Lane 1 in Heat 1 of its event scheduled for 6:50 p.m. Miami will compete against Boston College, Clemson, Notre Dame and Virginia.
 
The Canes’ top boat will race out of Lane 2 in Heat 2 of the Varsity Eight event scheduled for 7:25 p.m. against Clemson, Notre Dame and Virginia.
