Volleyball Announces Summer Camp Dates
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami head volleyball coach Jose “Keno” Gandara is excited to announce the dates for the 2018 Jose Gandara Women’s Volleyball Camp.
Gandara will host 10 separate opportunities for players at a variety of skill levels. There will be one day camp, six skill development clinics, two position clinics and an overnight elite camp. The variety of options give volleyball players of all ages and skill levels an opportunity to participate.

Under Gandara’s guidance, campers will learn the skills and techniques of volleyball. Whether it is serving, passing, attacking, blocking or defense, campers will learn both individual and team techniques in an exciting environment.
Dates of 2018 Volleyball Camps
Skill Clinics
Skill Clinics are designed for the player interested in specialized training in the fundamentals of the game. The clinics cater to all skill levels. These specialized sessions will give campers the opportunity to work with University of Miami coaches. Campers will be trained specifically within the UM system and techniques and will develop a better understanding for each of the core skill areas.
Serving Clinic I – June 11th
Time: 10 a.m. – noon
Passing Clinic – June 11th
Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Setting Clinic – June 12th
Time: 10 a.m. – noon
Spiking Clinic – June 12th
Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Block/Defense Clinic – June 13th
Time: 10 a.m. – noon
Serving Clinic II – June 13th
Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Position Clinics
The Position Clinic is intended for any and all females that are entering the 7th grade up to those graduating the 12th grade. This unique camp will consist of three parts: one hour of position specific skill instruction and activity, one hour of combined situation training relevant to their position, and a final hour of combined competitive activities with and emphasis on position specific feedback. The same techniques and tactics that are used at the University of Miami will be taught at this clinic.

Overnight Elite Camp
The Overnight Elite Camp is intended for any and all females entering the 7th grade through those graduating the 12th grade. This is the most competitive camp we offer. This camp will teach the same techniques, tactics and systems utilized by the University of Miami Volleyball program. All skills will be addressed as well as team concepts in competitive settings.
For resident campers, dorms will be used to house athletes and all meals will be eaten in the university cafeteria. This provides campers with a unique understanding of what student life is like at the University of Miami.
Overnight Elite Camp – July 6th – 9th
July 6: 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. July 7: 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. July 8: 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. July 9: 9:30 a.m. – noon
Day Camp
The Day Camp is intended for any and all females entering the 4th grade through those graduating the 12th grade. This camp will teach the same techniques, tactics and systems utilized by the University of Miami Volleyball program. All skills will be addressed as well as team concepts in competitive settings.
Day Camp – July 11th – 13th
Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Grades: entering 4th – 12th
