Weber Selected Golfweek Preseason All-American
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami junior golfer Dewi Weber was one of 30 players selected to the Golfweek Preseason All-American Team.
The 30 players selected preseason All-America were broken down into a first, second and third team format. Weber was named Second Team Preseason All-America.
The Groningen, Netherlands, native earned the preseason honor after an impressive sophomore campaign during which she posted a team-best six top-10 finishes and placed in the top 15 in nine events. She also won a pair of events.
Following the year, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) honored Weber for the second time in her collegiate career, as she was named Second Team All-America. In 2016, she received WGCA Honorable Mention recognition.
The Atlantic Coast Conference also recognized Weber as a member of the All-ACC team thanks to a 14th–place finish at the league championship. Her 14th–place finish at the ACC Championship was a career best.
Weber closed the year by tying for 24th at the NCAA Championship in Sugar Grove, Ill.
The Hurricanes open the fall portion of their 2017-18 schedule on Sept. 23 at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla.
