Darquea Earns All-ACC Honors for the Third Consecutive Season

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior Daniela Darquea was named to the 2016 All-ACC Women’s Golf Team for the third consecutive season Wednesday afternoon in a vote conducted by the league’s 12 head coaches.

Darquea earned a spot on the league’s all-conference team after she posted a standout 2015-16 campaign. This past year, Darquea posted a team-best six top 10 finishes in eight events.

The Quito, Ecuador, native also has recorded a league-best 71.9 strokes per round average. In addition, Darquea posted nine rounds of 70-or-less during the year.

Darquea placed eighth at the 2016 ACC Championship after she posted a three-round total of 217. Darquea’s eighth-place finish marked the second straight season in which she finished in the top 10 at the ACC Championship.

The Hurricanes return to action Thursday morning at the NCAA Regional Championship in College Station, Texas.
