TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Miami cross country program will be back in action this weekend, competing at the USF Invitational.

The Hurricanes will have 13 student-athletes running at The Claw golf course near the USF campus. Six Canes will compete in the women’s 5K race at 5 p.m., while seven Hurricanes will run in men’s 8K at 5:30 p.m. Teams scheduled to compete on Friday are Embry-Riddle, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Flagler College, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida Southern, Florida Tech, FIU, Miami, Nova Southeastern, Pasco-Hernando State, Tampa, UCF and Saint Leo.

“Both teams have continued to have solid practices this week,” Miami distance coach Damon Griffiths said. “We will see how they transition into this week’s race. There will be more schools racing, which will give us a better indicator to where the team really is.”
