Rowing Wraps Day 1 at Tiger Invitational
CLEMSON, S.C. — The University of Miami women’s rowing program completed its first day of racing at the Tiger Invitational Saturday.
In their first race of the day, the 1V got off to a good start before stumbling some in the second 500m of the 2000m course. The Canes were unable to make up the deficit and finished fourth in the race with a time of 6:40.1. Miami crossed the finish line five seconds behind No. 19 Cornell, who won the race.
Miami’s 1V improved in their second race of the day, finishing in a time of 6:26.7. The Canes placed third in the race behind Ohio State and ACC rival Clemson.
The Hurricanes’ 2V placed fifth in their morning race with a time of 6:55.2., finishing ahead of ACC rival and CRCA/USRowing No. 20 Duke and the University of Pennsylvania. In the afternoon race, Miami improved one spot, finishing fourth behind Ohio State, Clemson and Penn.
Miami’s 1V4 and 1N8 each competed in two races on Saturday and will look to improve off their Day 1 times on Sunday.
