Sebastian Advances to Capital One Semifinals
In what began with 16 is now down to four. Sebastian the Ibis, the beloved mascot of the University of Miami Hurricanes, has advanced to the semifinals of the 2012 Capital One Mascot Challenge.
After defeating Delaware’s YouDee in the quarterfinals, Sebastian will now face the Raider Red of Texas Tech in the semifinals and will look to avenge one of his only three losses during the 13-week campaign.
During the regular season, Sebastian defeated Nevada (Wolfie Jr.), Missouri (Truman), Delaware (YouDee), NC State (Ms Wuf), Arizona (Wilma Wildcat), Wisconsin (Bucky), LSU (Mike the Tiger), Maryland (Testudo) and Rutgers (Scarlet Knight).

The Capital One National Mascot of the Year will be announced Jan. 1, 2013, at the Capital One Bowl and will be awarded a $20,000 scholarship to help fund its school’s mascot program. Each of the 2012 Capital One All-America team members will also receive $5,000 for their university mascot program.
