UM Rowing Schedule Released

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – As the summer comes to an end, the University of Miami rowingprogram released its 2012-13 schedule. The Hurricanes will compete in 10 eventsthis upcoming season, highlighted by the ACC Championship which will be held onMay, 12 in Clemson, S.C.

“We’re all looking forward to the upcoming season,”said head coach Andrew Carter. “We have some excellent racing opportunities thiscoming year and I think the team is ready for the challenge. Our young squadwill have another year of experience under their belts and I know they love tocompete so I know we’re all just excited to get started.”

This season the Canes will host three home events,starting with a scrimmage versus Barry University (Sept. 9). The first regularseason home race will be against the University of Connecticut on March 23.  The largest home event will take place fromApril 27-28 against the University of Central Florida, Southern Methodist Universityand Old Dominion University. 

In addition to the three home events, UM willtravel coast to coast from San Diego, Calif., to Boston, Mass., also makingtrips to Tennessee and South Carolina. Additionally, the Hurricanes will take ashort trip up to Tampa, Fla., to compete in a scrimmage against Michigan.    

The NCAA Championship will be held from May 30-June2 in Mercer County, N.J.
