Goodrich To Join UM Staff As Assistant AD For Marketing

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami Athletic Department announced the official hiring of Andrew Goodrich to the position of assistant athletics director for marketing Wednesday.
“Andrew arrives in Coral Gables with an impressive track record of efficiency and out-of-the-box thinking,” said Chris Freet, associate AD for communications & marketing . “He will bring a corporate-level awareness and strategic business sense to the Miami Hurricanes brand, as well as a relentless passion and energy.”
The upstate New York native, who earned his bachelor’s of science in business administration from Cumberland University in 1999, was a three-time academic all-conference selection with the Bulldogs baseball team. Goodrich went on to receive his MBA with concentrations in marketing and management from Notre Dame, and is expected to receive his Ph.D. from the University of South Florida in higher education administration come spring 2013.
Most recently on the collegiate level, Goodrich served as assistant athletics director for administration at USF for over four years. Goodrich, who served as the sports administrator for the men’s and women’s golf and sailing programs, assisted in the development of annual marketing and sales plans, managed the $4 million dollar grand-in-aid budget for Bulls’ student-athletes, and helped manage contracts and supported negotiations for the university with Raymond James Stadium, multimedia rights, and athletic apparel companies.
Goodrich has most recently served as director of athletics at his alma mater, Owego Free Academy in Owego, N.Y., and also worked as a graduate assistant for marketing during his time as a graduate student at Notre Dame. While at USF, he played a role on the Board of Directors for both the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Sports Commission and the Notre Dame Alumni Club, and has also completed leadership training at the Cornell University Administrative Management Institute.
