Miami Volleyball Moves Up to No. 20 in AVCA Poll

Lexington, Ky. – After collecting two wins over the weekend at Virginia Tech and Virginia, the University of Miami volleyball team moved up a spot to No. 20 in the latest AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll announced Monday afternoon.

On the year, UM has posted an overall record of 11-1 with an Atlantic Coast Conference record of 2-1.

The Hurricanes swept both the Hokies and Cavaliers, 3-0. The win Sunday at Virginia marked the first time the Canes have knocked off the Cavs in the Commonwealth State since 2007.

Ali Becker and Lane Carico each helped UMiami with double-digit kills performances each match, while Carico went on to register double-doubles in both outings.

Miami returns home this weekend for a pair of ACC matches beginning with Wake Forest on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. inside the James L. Knight Sports Complex. UM will then host Duke on Sunday.
