Hurricanes Top 3 Performers of the Week

Julia Cohen, sophomore, Women’s Tennis
Last Sunday, Cohen collected two impressive victories in a win over TCU. She upset No. 6 Nina Munch-Soegaard in 3 sets as well defeating the No. 13 ranked doubles team with partner Laura Vallverdu. She picked up another singles win against Michigan this past Thursday to improve her individual record to 15-4 on the season.
Jason Hagerty, junior, Baseball
This past Sunday, Hagerty went 2-for-4 with a career high 6 RBI and 4 runs scored in an 18-9 win against Rutgers. Hagerty hit 2 home runs, including a fifth-inning grand slam, to help clinch the weekend series for Miami. He currently leads the team in runs batted in and is tied for the team lead in home runs.
Christina Hirano, sophomore, Women’s Golf
At the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic this week, Hirano shot a team-high +5 (75-74-72=221) to help lead Miami to a share of the title with Central Arkansas. She finished tied for sixth place overall, her highest finish in her collegiate career. Hirano was one of four Canes to finish in the top 40 in the standings.
