Reuben Ross Named Muscle Milke Student-Athlete of the Week

Coral Gables, FLA (www.hurricanesports.com) – Sophomore diver Reuben Ross has been chosen as the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for March 24-30.

Less than a week after teammate Brittany Viola won an NCAA championship in the women’s platform, Ross won his first NCAA title on Friday with a score of 466.80 in the men’s three-meter springboard finals at the 2008 Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships.

Ross, who also earned All-American status with a fourth-place finish in the platform finals and a sixth-place finish in the one-meter finals, won the school’s 22nd men’s diving title, the first since Imre Lengyel won the platform championship in 2002.

Ross’ win also marked the first for UM in the men’s three-meter springboard since Tyce Routson came away with the NCAA title in 1997.
