<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-  The University of Miami’s Roland DaSilva placed fourth in the heptathlon during the second day of competition at the ACC Indoor Championships.  <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

 

Dasilva recorded an NCAA provisional mark of 5,316 points in the heptathlon, winning the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.56 and coming in third in the 55 meter hurdles at 7.87.

 

The Hurricanes had multiple qualifiers in the 60m hurdles, as sophomores Cory Nelms (7.98) and Les Bradley (8.04) both finished second in their respective flight, reaching tomorrow’s final.

 

Three-time All-American Tim Harris (1:55.37) will be joined in the 800-meter final tomorrow by junior, Patrick O’Donnell, who ran a 1:55.16 to qualify.

 

Miami’s final qualifier was freshman Demarcus Vandyke, who ran an impressive 6.81, earning the right to score points for his team.
