UM Holds Sixth Place after 18 Holes at UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Led by freshman Maria Ronderos’ even-par 71, the University of Miami women’s golf team sits in sixth place after 18 holes played Monday at the UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic held at Starmount Forest Country Club.
Ronderos, one of only two players to record five birdies on the day, put together a front-nine 35 followed by a 36 on the back to finish tied for fourth heading into Tuesday’s final round.
Collectively, the UM four-member contingent tallied a 306 to finish sixth on the day.
Joining Ronderos was senior Jessica Steward, who fired a 75 to finish tied for 16th, freshman Christina Hirano, who recorded a 75 to tie for 45th, and junior Anabelle Paulino, who tied for 51st with an 81.
Also competing was senior Hagen Weintraub, who recorded an 83, and freshman Marion Arqi, who fired a 78.
Final-round action at the UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic will pick up Tuesday morning.
