Miami also had two women competing in the first day of the heptathlon.
Senior All-American Amber Williams (Succasunna, N.J.) and sophomore Amy Seward (Virginia Beach, Va.) are in second and third place respectively after day one of the competition.
Williams, who captured the ACC Indoor title in the pentathlon, recorded 3311 points and trails Florida State’s Deanna Lane (3341 pts) by just 30 points.
