Rich Leads UM At Hurricane Invitational

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Louis Rich Jr. won the 2000-meter steeplechase with a time of 6:09.37 to lead the University of Miami men’s track and field team at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla.
Rich dominated the field finishing more than 19 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
The Hurricanes had two runners finish in the top-5 of the 1500-meters including freshman Tim Harris (Miami Booker T. Washington) who placed fourth with a time of 3:56.68 and sophomore Tom Berry (Stanford, Conn.) who finished fifth in a time of 3:56.83.
Sophomore Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) placed fourth in the 5000-meters with a time of 15:28.18, and freshman Casey McGinn (Orlando, Fla.) finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.59 meters (15-00.75).
The men’s track and field team returns to action March 24-26 at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla.
