Harris, Brutvan Lead Hurricanes

Gainesville, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Freshman Timothy Harris (Miami Booker T. Washington) placed fifth in the 400-meters and junior Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) finished fifth in the 3000-meters to lead the University of Miami men’s track and field team at the Florida Intercollegiate in Gainesville, Fla.

Harris, the 2004 USATF Junior National Champion at 800-meters, finished fifth in the 400-meters in a time of 49.71 seconds, and ran the second leg of the 4×400-meter that placed third with a time of 3:25.61.

Brutvan, who was the Hurricanes top finisher at all seven cross country meets this past fall, took fifth in the 3,000-meters in a time of 8:53.21.

Miami returns to action on January 29 at the Boston University Invitational in Boston, Mass.
