Men's Cross Country 13th At NCAA Regional

Tuscaloosa, Ala. (hurricanesports.com) – Hurricane junior Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) placed 48th to lead the University of Miami men’s cross country team to a 13th-place finish at the NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships in Tuscaloosa. Ala.

Brutvan, who has been the Hurricanes top finisher at every race this season and in 14 consecutive races dating back to last season, completed the 10K course in a time of 31:44.43.

Five Hurricanes placed in the top-100 individually including sophomore Tom Berry (Stamford, Conn.) who finished 61st in a time of 32:12.67, sophomore Jon Scheiner (Katy, Texas) who placed 68th (32:28.98), sophomore Zack Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) who finished 91st (33:07.23) and junior James Mullaly (Ellicott City, Md.) who took 98th (33:21.07).
