Men's Cross Country Ranked 12th In South Region

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s cross country team is ranked 12th in the South Region in the preseason United States Cross Country Coaches Association poll released Monday.

Miami returns eight runners from last season’s team that ranked 11th in the South Region, including junior standout Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, FL), and five promising newcomers.

Brutvan, who was the Hurricanes top finisher at every meet last season, has led UM in the opening two meets this season recording top Hurricane finishes at both events.

This past weekend he placed 15th overall to lead UM to a fourth-place finish out of 22 teams at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. He was the top collegiate finisher at the FIU Invitational on September 11th leading UM to a sweep of the event for the second straight season.
