ON ALLEN: Will compete in the 400-meter hurdles for Jamaica at the 2004 Summer Olympics… is making her second trip to the Olympics… finished second in the 400-meter hurdles (55.37) at the Jamaican Athletic Association Trials to qualify for the 2004 Jamaican Olympic team… competed at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney in the 400-meter hurdles… ranked 30th in the world in the 400-meter hurdles by the IAAF… was a six-time All-American at the University of Miami from 1995-98… her six All-American honors rank third on UM’s all-time chart behind Gillian Russell and Lauryn Williams (9)… earned All-America honors in the 55-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles and 4×100-meter relay as a freshman in 1995… won six BIG EAST outdoor titles during her career, tying her with Lauryn Williams for the most in school history, including three consecutive BIG EAST titles in the 400-hurdles from 1996-98… left UM as the school-record holder in four events including the 400-meter hurdles (57.43), 4×100-meter relay (44.29), sprint medley relay (3:51.83), shuttle hurdle relay (53.88).

ON CLARKE: Considered the greatest men’s track and field athlete ever to run at the University of Miami… will compete in 4×400-meter relay for Jamaica at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games… is making his third trip to the Olympics… anchored the Jamaican 4×400-meter relay to a bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, and reached the final of the open 400-meters where he finished seventh (44.99)… reached the semifinals of the 400-meters at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney… won the silver medal in the 400-meters and a gold medal as the anchor of the 4×400-meter relay at the 2004 World Indoor Championships… ranked ninth in the world in the 400-meters by the IAAF… was a six-time All-America and two-time NCAA National Champion in the 400-meters while competing for the Hurricanes from 1995-98… finished first in the 400-meters at the 1996 NCAA Outdoor Championships as well as the 1998 NCAA Indoor Championships… won seven BIG EAST titles during his career… won BIG EAST Indoor 400-meter titles in 1996 and 1998… won five BIG EAST outdoor championships including two 400-meter titles (1997 and 1998), two 200-meter titles (1996 and 1998) and one 4×400-meter relay championship (1995)… left UM as the school-record holder in six different events including the indoor 400-meters (45.86), indoor 4×400-meter relay (3:09.75), outdoor 200-meters (20.66), outdoor 400-meters (44.96), outdoor 4×400-meter relay (3:07.15) and the Sprint Medley relay (3:18.20).

Canadian Olympic Team – 100-meter breaststroke, 200-meter breaststroke

ON LEIER: A member of the 2000 Canadian Olympic Swim team, Leier makes her second trip to the Olympic Games in 2004… will compete in the 100 and 200-meter breaststroke at the 2004 Games… qualified for the 100-meter breaststroke by breaking the Canadian record with the third fastest time in the world this year at the Canadian Olympic Trials with a time of 1:08.14… finished second in the 200-meter breaststroke at the 2004 Canadian Olympic trials… holds the Miami school record in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.44)… earned honorable-mention All-America honors in the 100-yard breaststroke four consecutive seasons (1996, 97, 98, 99)… earned honorable-mention All-America honors in 1996 in the 200-yard breaststroke… won three BIG EAST titles in the 100-yard breaststroke (1996, 1997, 1999) and two in the 200-yard Individual Medley (1998, 1999)… earned BIG EAST All-Academic honors all four years.
KYLE PRANDI
United States Olympic Team – 10-meter platform, 10-meter synchronized platform

ON PRANDI: Making his first trip to the Olympic Games as a member of the U.S. Diving Team… will compete in the 10-meter individual and will team with Mark Ruiz in the men’s 10-meter synchronized platform… holds the American record for the highest recorded score on a single dive with a mark of 104.76 at the 2002 World Cup Trials… paired with Ruiz for a score of 703.98 in the men’s 10-meter synchronized platform at the U.S. Olympic Trials… a three-time All-American at Miami, Prandi won the NCAA Championship in the men’s 10-meter platform in 2001 and placed third in the platform and sixth in the 3-meter springboard at the 2000 NCAA Championships… named the BIG EAST’s Most Outstanding Diver in 2001… won two BIG EAST Championships, taking the conference title in the 3-meter springboard in 2000 and 2001.
LAURYN WILLIAMS
United States Olympic Team – 100-meters, 4×100-meter relay

ON WILLIAMS: Will be making her first trip to the Olympic Games… qualified for the United States Olympic team with a third-place finish in the 100-meters at the USA trials… is tied for the second fastest time in the world and tied for the fastest time by an American this season in the 100-meters (10.97)… has the fastest any-condition time by an American this season (10.94)… posted the time of 10.97 (1.0 wind) in winning her first NCAA title in the 100-meters on June 11… 2004 NCAA East Regional Champion in the 100-meters (11.16)… ran second leg of the 2004 NCAA East Regional Champion 4×100-meter relay… named 2004 BIG EAST Most Outstanding Track Performer after winning the 100-meters (11.50), 200-meters (23.47) and running the second leg of the champion 4×100-meter relay at the 2004 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships… is the only woman runner in BIG EAST history to win three consecutive 100-meter titles… won the 100-meters at the 2004 Penn Relays with a time of 11.15… set a Penn Relays record with a time of 11.10 in the preliminaries… currently ranked 17th in the world in the 100-meters by the IAAF… is a nine-time All-American and 11-time BIG EAST Champion… has won five medals, including three gold, while representing the United States in International competition… won gold medals in the 100-meters and 4×100-meter relay at the 2003 Pan American Games… won a silver medal at the 2003 World Championships as a member of the 4×100-meter relay… captured a gold medal in the 100-meters and a silver medal in the 4×100-meter relay at the 2002 World Junior Championships… was the USA Junior National Champion in the 100-meters in 2002… holds seven UM records including indoor marks in the 55-meters (6.70), 60-meters (7.22) and 200-meters (22.79), and outdoor marks in the 100-meters (10.97), 200-meters (22.46), 4×100-meter relay (43.64) and 4×200-meter relay (1:33.45)… turned professional after the Olympic Trials and will not compete at UM her senior season.
