Robinson Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami volleyball team’s freshman setter Jill Robinson earned BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors on Monday after guiding the Hurricanes to wins over Syracuse and Central Florida over the past week.

The Merced, Calif. native turned in a career-best 63 assists in a 3-2 over BIG EAST opponent Syracuse while averaging 12.17 assists per game over the week. Robinson totaled 146 assists and 26 digs in 12 games for UM during the course of the week and averaged 12.62 assists per game in two conferences matches against Syracuse and Notre Dame.

Robinson was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week earlier this season on Sept. 15 and Sept. 28. She currently leads UM with 903 assists on the season, averaging 9.82 assists per game.
